The Senior BIM Electrical Design & Shop drawing Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the electrical design and shop drawing process using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. This role involves collaborating with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to develop accurate electrical designs and shop drawings for construction projects. The Senior BIM Electrical Design & Shop drawing Engineer will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities

Electrical Design:
Develop detailed electrical designs using BIM software, considering project
specifications, codes, and standards.

Shop Drawings:
Prepare accurate shop drawings for electrical systems, including lighting,
power distribution, fire alarm systems, low voltage systems, etc.

Collaboration:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to
coordinate electrical design activities and resolve any design conflicts.

Technical Guidance:
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on electrical design principles,
BIM software usage, and industry best practices.
- Quality Assurance: Review electrical designs and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, structural) to integrate electrical systems into the overall building design.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, calculations reports related to the electrical design process.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of
experience in electrical design & Shop drawing for construction projects

Proficiency in using
BIM software (e.g., Revit MEP) for developing detailed 3D models of electrical
systems

Strong knowledge of
relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC)
- Experience in preparing accurate shop drawings for various types of electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
